Nutrition Coordinator
All students in Manitoba enrolled in public schools are now able to get free and nutritious food in their school when they need it. The Manitoba school nutrition program was introduced in 2024 and provides for students following Canada’s nutritional guideless, meeting the needs of schools and communities, removing barriers and stigma for students who need to access nutrition programs. The program also considers and accommodates food allergies and cultural and dietary needs, explores local food options and respects public health guidelines.
Pembina Trails Nutrition Coordinators play a crucial role in making the Manitoba school nutrition program available to students in the division. As a Nutrition Coordinator, you are responsible for organizing and maintaining the school’s nutrition program which will include ordering, delivering, preparing, and providing assistance and encouragement to promote students to eat healthily within the particular school.
The position offers a wage of $25 per hour with hours varying depending on location.
People with strong organizational skills and communication abilities are needed for this role, as you will be planning and executing snack and/or meal preparation for a considerable number of students. You get to interact with students and staff, working both independently and in a team environment.
Requirements for this position include Grade 12 education or GED or equivalent combination of skills and experience and Food Handler Certification (or willing to obtain).
