Library Learning Commons
The Linden Meadows Library Learning Commons is a dynamic and vibrant school community space where at any given time you will find students and staff collaborating, making, planning, reading and learning in our participatory environment.
We are proud of our welcoming and information-rich learning commons that is at the heart of our school. Our goal is to empower our students with the competencies necessary to develop their inquiry and critical thinking skills through authentic project based learning experiences and the seamless infusion of digital tools and practices. With our well-stocked Makerspace, our students are able to stretch their imaginations and curiosity through informal and formal learning opportunities using everything from robots for coding to cardboard boxes and duct tape for building and LEGO for expressing.
Along with the fun we have creating, our students are surrounded by shelves of some of the best and latest books that meet the needs and interests of all of our students. We are excited to have a library collection that reflects the diversity of our students and fosters the multimodal literacies to empower them as lifelong learners. As a UNESCO school, our library programming often addresses social justice issues through both our inquiry and literacy projects.
It is the responsive nature of our space that keeps us at the cutting edge of some of the best educational practices, making our Library Learning Commons a place that truly inspires wonder and growth!
