About Us

We are a K-8 school nestled in a park-like environment in the heart of Tuxedo. Kindergarten classes are held in the morning. We embrace a multi-age philosophy in our grade 1-8 classrooms. We offer a variety of specialist taught courses at all grade levels including Phys. Ed for K-8, Music for K-4, Band for 5-8, Art for 5-8, French for 5-8 and Practical Arts for 7-8. We have a FLEX program that runs daily for all of our grade 1 - 8 students from 2:10 - 2:40 pm. This is a time in the day for students to ask themselves, "What do I need to be successful today?". We follow our Circle of Courage to embrace the principles of Mastery, Belonging, Independence and Generosity during this time, as well as promoting the Global Competencies in our Manitoba Framework of Learning.
We have several teachers that have received professional development in Forest School training. These teachers take our students outdoors to the beautiful parks and spaces around us to have them learning, exploring, wondering and growing with the land. As a school, we pride ourselves on our connections to the land and building a stewardship with the earth through environmental inquiry and play.
In 2020-21 we were nominated to be a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) school. This pedagogical approach is embedded into programming at every grade and continues today. Our STEM programming is lead through our Library Learning Commons by our Teacher Librarian and enables students to have access to equipment that promotes STEM which includes but is not limited to: 3 x 3D printers, green screens, robotics, VR experiences and more.
