MUSIC  Mrs. Fraser (gr. 1 - 6) & Mrs. Giesbrecht (K and gr.1)

As encouraged by Pembina Trails School Division, Dalhousie includes speech, movement, singing and instrumental play in its Orff Schulwerk influenced music program. Students receive ninety minutes of instruction per cycle, and in grades three and up, children focus on musical literacy through acquiring skills on various instruments including the recorder, ukulele, and barred instruments. Extracurricular opportunities sometimes include choirs, recorder and Orff clubs.  Amongst other enrichment activities, Dalhousie groups are sometimes entered in the Winnipeg Music Festival and perform with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.  We have proudly received several awards over the years including gold standing at the Winnipeg Music Festival.
