Fort Richmond Collegiate celebrated Truth and Reconciliation Day
Fort Richmond Collegiate celebrated Truth and Reconciliation Day with the Aboriginal School of Dance and by participating in a morning of workshops and exploratory sessions. Several of our Indigenous youth led us in learning about the importance and impact of reconciliation. One of our students shared a poem she wrote that included this powerful statement, “Truth first then reconciliation. Not in pages. Not in apologies alone. But in action and respect, and a promise kept alive. Every child matters, and we will never stop saying so.” (Terrianna Catcheway, grade 11)
