Mural Project 2025

École Crane recently completed a special mural project with the support of the Manitoba Arts Council through Artists in Schools and the School Parent Council. The school was fortunate to be able to work with two collaborating artists: Annie Bergen and Nova Courchene. Every student created a design based upon their Land-based learning the past three years. The school had hosted many Knowledge Keeper visits and participated in many Land-based projects and workshops. Indigenous artist Nova Courchene channeled the student designs into four principal designs that represent the four quadrants of the Medicine Wheel. All students, staff and many community members participated in painting under the direction of Nova and Annie Bergen. These murals will inspire us for years to come.
