Social Emotional Learning: As we work to help students understand and regulate their emotions, many teachers are also helping children understand the size of the problems they may encounter on the playground and in peer interactions. Along with a focus on Sand, Pebble, and Rock problems, many classes are also helping children understand the difference between Tattling and Telling. Is It Tattling or Telling? - Child Mind Institute Children are encouraged to tell an adult if they encounter something unsafe, someone is acting in an unkind way on purpose, they cannot solve a pebble sized problem, there is danger, or someone is hurt. |
