Music at Bairdmore

Grade 3-5 Choir:

• Day 3 from 11:10 - 11:40
• Students should be coming to every choir rehearsal from now on.
• Students have received a choir commitment form that needs to be signed and returned.

How does your child join? They just come to the music room on day 3’s at lunch!

K-2, Gr 3-5 Winter Concert: December 18^th 

The Winter Concert, called Holiday Windows, is for all K-5 students and will take place on December 18th in the Bairdmore gym. All students are important to both the afternoon and evening concerts. There will be two concerts at the following times:

K-2: 12:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Grade 3-5: 1:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Students are encouraged to wear clothing that represents their culture or their fanciest clothes. 

This year we are looking forward to the following special musical experiences:

In February, all grade 1-5 students will attend a Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra concert entitled The Spirit Horse Returns. This is an amazing program where students learn about the music before they attend the concert. 

The grade 3-5 choir will perform at music festivals in February/March and at assemblies throughout the year. 

In February, we will have an opera singer from the Manitoba Opera visit us for I Love to Read month. In April, we will learn more about being an opera singer by hosting an opera class with Manitoba Opera. We will also learn about opera through the Manitoba Opera in a Trunk program.

Select grade 5 students will attend Manitoba Orff Chapter’s Children’s Day on April 16^th for a day of musical enrichment. 

Additionally, select grade 4 students will attend Pembina Trails School Division on May 13^th for a day of musical enrichment.
